BeAM Makes Face Shields for Health Care Workers

BeAM is working closely with UNC Health partners to provide auxiliary PPE for healthcare workers. Over the course of the next month, 30-40k reusable, auxiliary face shields will be produced with the help of a volunteer corps and small number of staff. In addition, BeAM is working with UNC Health and other university leaders and makers across the state to find solutions for various PPE shortages.

UNC Face Shield Maker Initiative

BeAM@CAROLINA is a network of makerspaces where you can join the UNC maker community in the design and making of physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship and recreation.

You can participate in open studios, training sessions, workshops, host classes and group activities in spaces equipped with emerging technologies like 3D printing as well as wood and metalworking shops.
