To Book a BeAM Tool or Space Reservation:

Reservations are only available for 3D practice projects, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, embroidery machines, and electronics workbenches.
Reservations are not needed for 3D printers or other BeAM tools at this time.

To start, scan the the QR code below using your mobile device or use the link here and follow the instructions.


An email will be sent to you following your registration which includes a link to download the Co-Works app for your respective mobile device.

  1. Download Co-Works App/sign-in.
  2. Navigate to Bookings Tab at the bottom.
  3. Select Date and Time of desired reservation.
    1. Set Meeting length to 30 min or 1 hour.
  4. Select Equipment, noting the location; Murray, Hanes, Carmichael.
  5. Select from the available time slots and “Book Now”
    1. Reservations can be cancelled from the “Me” Tab at the bottom.

BeAM@CAROLINA is a network of makerspaces where you can join the UNC maker community in the design and making of physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship and recreation.

You can participate in open studios, training sessions, workshops, host classes and group activities in spaces equipped with emerging technologies like 3D printing as well as wood and metalworking shops.
