At this time, all trained UNC affiliates are welcome to enter the makerspaces during open hours, which are listed below. While walk-ins are welcome, we encourage you to make a reservation for the laser cutters, embroidery machine, vinyl cutter, electronics workbench, and wood shop to help assure access. Make a reservation on one of those tools or areas using the button below.

MAKE A RESERVATION

• All BeAM spaces will close at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 27th for the well-being day and holiday weekend. Normal operations will resume on Monday, April 1st.
• Students working on projects for MakerFest will have exclusive access to the Murray makerspace from 11am-7pm on Saturday, April 27th, and again on Monday, April 29th from 10am-3pm. MakerFest exhibitors will have exclusive access to the Hanes makerspace from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday, April 28th. 
• The Spring 2024 MakerFest event is happening on Monday, April 29th from 4:30pm to 6pm. Hanes will close at 2:30pm, Murray will close at 3pm, and the Carmichael makerspace will not be open that day.
• All BeAM spaces will close at the end of normal hours on Sunday, May 12th.
• BeAM’s Murray makerspace will reopen for Maymester on Monday, May 20th. Open hours will be Monday through Friday from 12-5pm. Carmichael and HAC makerspaces will close for the summer (except for scheduled coursework, workshops, and camp programs).
